The Performance Arcade

Last Friday was the opening night of The Performance Arcade which I was lucky enough to be invited to. Here for a week, The Performance Arcade are a number of shipping containers with different art installations in each container.

There is the hacked kinetic:

The map where you can pinpoint you own memories
And detail them on the black board. This ones for you Amber x
 The container of umbrellas
as well as the guys powering items within their container, by cycle power! There is also a guy living in a container with a pig.

Don't take my word for it, make your way across the protestors occupying Aotea Square and check it out!

2 October

Went a little out of my way today to check out a cafe in Takapuna called Little & Friday.

Home made preserves:
Biscuits:
 Sweet & savoury treats
Fudge & pastries. (The empty shelf apparently had brioche.)
 Charming decor.
 And my takeaway sweet treat.
Little & Friday is the pretty boys/sweet treats version of Cosset's pretty girls/vegetarian delights.

Once again I was underwhelmed by the coffee - I am over being unimpressed with coffee in Auckland.

Friday was quite a day...

Breakfast at Depot with Josie.
First Light was happening on High St, so quick drink at Cassette for old times sake.
Then the opening of Snake Pit gallery which involved a 3 round boxing match.

It was a draw.
 Quick birthday party.
 Followed by slices at Sals.
Basement Bar for 'My Mother Thinks I'm Talented' which was AWESOME.
Before a short walk up Meyers Park back to K Rd.

Fun times, pretty ladies.
